About : Dr. Batombo M. BONGOY

My name is Batombo M. Bongoy, the President and Lead Consultant at GHCs Inc. I earned a Masters of Arts (MA) in hospitality management from the University of Brighton in the United Kingdom and a Higher-Education Professional Diploma in International Food Services Operations from the Institut Supérieur de Formation Hôtelière et de Restauration (INFA) in France. Further, a Philosophy Doctorate in Education Leadership (Ph.D.)., and professor in Hospitality, Tourism, and Food Service Management and Operations. I have 35 years of subject-matter experience in the hospitality, tourism and food service industry in Europe, Africa and the United States.

Africa

Africa : I began working in the hotel-industry in Nairobi, Kenya, at the Hilton and Intercontinental Hotel as management trainee. I furthered my undergraduate training in Germany at the Hohenzollern Hotel then worked at the Mõevempick Feldschosly, a Swiss food service chain in Zurich, Switzerland in residence as restaurant operations trainee. Upon earning my diploma, I was recruited as Auditor Supervisor to the Financial Comptroller at the Intercontinental Hotel in Kinshasa, and subsequently as Executive Food and Beverage Manager at Robertsfield International Airport Hotel in Liberia, West Africa.

Europe

Europe : I worked in France as Operations Manager at Campanile Hotel, Meaux Ibis Hotels, and as Night and Duty Manager at Campanile Hotel in Essome. A couple of years later I worked in the United Kingdom as Resident Manager at Arundel Choice Hotels, then Operations Manager and Deputy General Manager at Choice International Hotels in Redditch, in United Kingdom.

In the 2010s, I transitioned into academia teaching hospitality management, hotel operations, and tourism courses at Miami Dade College’s School of International Business Management and Tourism, Kendall and North Campuses. In 2016, I earned a PhD in Education Leadership from Keiser University (USA) where I still serve as advisor on the Graduate and Doctoral Students Advisory Board. Community services, mentored, counselled, and assisted and reviewed doctoral students’ dissertations.
